When we arrived at the Grand Canyon it was noon, and we saw a pastel-colored impressionistic landscape. By sunset, the canyon was bathed in a rich blue darkness with a stretch of sunlight off on the horizon. But, the next day, during sunrise, the canyon flooded with sunlight as if it were on fire. It looked as if lava was flowing down the sides of the cliffs.
The sunset light was spectacular and the most dramatic period of time at the canyon.
