I Don’t Know Much About Art, but I Know What I Like
Acrylic on canvas
24″x36″

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes ready to hang.

My very dear sweet cousin said to me once “I don’t know much about art but I know what I like.” This was in reaction to abstract paintings she saw in a museum.  I’ve heard that phrase so often before so I decided to create a painting based on that phrase. I gathered together some of my most favorite abstract painters in a gallery on canvas. In this gallery though, cute Oaxacan wood carvings, wearing Zapotec “clothing” walk shyly through the space.

Attributions: Ad Reinhardt, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock and my Oaxacan woodcarvings and Zapotec textile design.
