The Rio Grande at its northernmost point meets the
southernmost point of the Rockies –
the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Colorado, 75 miles from Taos.
When visiting Taos, next to the Rio Grande, I
was able to see these mountains change colors from
purple to bright flaming orange as the sun set in the distance.
